THE ELIZABETHANS' AMATEUR OPERATIC SOCIETY

The Elizabethans' were founded in 1960 and perform every year at Ossett Town Hall (West Yorkshire). We perform full stage productions, cabaret and concerts. We also have a junior section - e.chaos - who perform their own full stage production annually at the Town Hall and join the adults in cabaret and concert. Their ages are 7-16 years. 2008 is the Centenary Year of Ossett Town Hall.
The Elizabethans' and e.chaos operate under an equal opportunities policy enshrined in their Constitution . A Child Protection Policy and Health and Safety Policy are also in operation.
We are affiliated to The National Operatic and Dramatic Association established 1899; Development Initiatives for Voluntary Arts (DIVA) which was set up in 1996 by Wakefield MDC; and VOX the Community Empowerment Agency for the Wakefield District.
The adult section rehearse every Tuesday 7-30 to 9.30 pm and e.chaos rehearse Wednesday's 7.00 to 8.30 pm. Our rehearsals take place at Trinity Parish Centre, Church Street, Ossett.
The aim of the Society is to provide good quality music and drama through performance, which in turn improves the health and spirit of the local and wider community and introduces and educates them to live entertainment.
